Heavy Rescue Band Bio

Heavy Rescue had its beginnings in the mid-1990s when several Providence Firefighters began jamming between runs in the fire station. The jam sessions continued, the repertoire expanded, and additional musicians joined the sessions. As other firefighters heard the music, the demand for the band at various fire department functions grew. From there Heavy Rescue began playing regularly in clubs in the metro-Providence area, and now are in demand throughout Southeastern New England.

The band’s early focus was on the blues, and was heavily influenced by Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, BB King, and Eric Clapton. Over the years the band’s focus expanded from its blues roots to classic rock and pop dance songs that are more in demand in area clubs.

Heavy Rescue enjoys a strong following among the five-hundred members of the Providence Fire Department, and over the past few years has seen its non-fire fan base expand as well.  Heavy Rescue is available for public and private bookings. Please contact Curt or Joe for more information.
